III Awarded competition in CG-Node "Mutant/Aberration of the nature" CG-Node invites to all its members to participate in the “III Awarded Competition”, with Trigital as a sponsor this time. The competition starts the 11th of June of 2007 and closes the 22nd of July at midnight, 12PM, Spanish time zone (GMT+1). The participants will develop a 3D work where a “Mutant/Aberration of the nature” can be clearly identified. In this competition you have absolute freedom to execute this concept and adapt it to your own vision of how a character with this characteristics should be, as long as your work follows the concept of the competition. The winner of this competition will be based on public vote. The winner will obtain the following prizes; One (1) downloadable license of “Pixologic Zbrush a 3” and (1) Gnomon DVD, which the winner will be able to choose. As additional flattery a drawing will take place for those participants amongst the positions 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th. Two (2) official “Learning Maya 7” (in English). Two of the participants in these positions will have the opportunity to get a unit. RULES TO PARTICPATE Please, make sure you read and understand these rules # 1 - Only those registered users in CG-Node can participate. Those who sing up in CG-Node once the competition has begun will also be allowed to participate. # 2 - Group work is not allowed. You must complete your work individually. # 3 - Your work must be originally made for this competition, works that are not exclusively created for this competition will be excluded/disqualified. # 4 - Those participants, who wish to show work in progress in the forum, will need do it using this thread. ONLY when they have finished their work they´ll be allowed to create a new thread and upload their final work. # 5 - The competition will close the 22nd of July at 12pm o'clock, Spanish time zone (GMT+1). Late works will be kept out of the competition and will not qualify to participate in the final poll. # 6 - Once the competition is closed, CG-Node management will open a new poll in order to allow all the users to vote their favorite work. The winner of the competition will be chosen by public vote, as well as those participants in positions 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th. # 7 - Any suspicious activity or apparent fraudulent attempt to modify the results from the vote using multiple registries, will be investigated and the responsible participant could be disqualified. # 8 - CG-Node staff will be able to participate in the competition, although they will NOT be able to appear as an option in the poll and won´t have access to win any prize. # 9 – Self vote is allowed. All the participants are free to vote by their own work as favorite in the poll, if they wish to do so. # 10- Two or more participants should finish their work in time and meet the requirements specified in this document. If only one or none reach the deadline, the competition will be declared canceled and no prizes will be given. # 11- Your work must be 3D, you can use any 3D application you feel comfortable with. Also, you can use compositing softwares for post-production and layer compositing. # 12- You should present your model with an artistic pose. Models presented in T pose or stance pose won´t be admitted. It is not necessary to get the model within a environment, just the model will be enough to participate. However, bare in mind that the whole is what it counts, so a nice environment will improve your chances of getting more votes. # 13- All participants will have to provide the following: - Two (2) size images, 700 pixels width to show it on the forum, and a link to a high resolution image (bigger than 1000 pixels width) so the fine detail can be appreciated. - At least one image showing the wires of the model. - Your work must be the result of modelling, texturing, illumination and rendering. Previews, screen shots or unfinished images won´t be accepted. - Brief description about the process you have followed to create your image (5 lines or so will be enough) IMPORTANT: These requirements are needed to ensure that your work won't get disqualified. All participants must provide these elements, with no exception. If your fail providing them your work WILL BE disqualified. # 14- CG-Node Administrators might require scene elements, such geometries, UV maps or any other element from the winning work, with the only purpose of ensuring the legitimacy of the winning participant. # 15- Sponsors are responsible for the prizes they provide to the winner participant. # 16- Participating in this competition you declared have read and understood these rules and compromise yourself to follow them.
